About Autism

Autism is a general term used to describe a variety of complex developmental disorders. This is known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).There is often nothing about how people with ASD look that sets them apart from other people, but people with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from most other people. The learning, thinking, and problem-solving abilities of people with ASD can range from gifted to severely challenged.

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning. Interventions based on ABA for the treatment of autism are considered to be the most effective in teaching new skills and reducing problem behavior.
